Activities for the benefit of the community

Aroma Israel acts in various fashions in order to implement and promote its social responsibility, mainly by utilizing the chain's daily meeting points with customers and the community.

  • Currently, challenged individuals afflicted by mental and psychiatric disabilities, autism and other afflictions are employed in most of the chain's branches.
The relative number of these employees at Aroma Israel is of the highest in the Israeli economy and the chain plans to increase the number of these employees in all branches.
  • In addition a number of our branches employ youth at risk in order to bring them closer to a normative life style. This activity is cooperation with the "ALAM" organization.
These activities stem from our belief that every person can and deserves to be part of society according to his or her abilities.
  • The chain has started to adapt our branches to individuals with special needs in cooperation with the "Access Israel" organization.
  • In June 2003 Aroma Israel opened a non- profit branch in cooperation with the chain "Rehovot/Street Experience", "Eshalim Zionism 2000" and "Applied Materials" in the City of Rehovot.
Since then the branch has employed (and continues to employ) scores of youth at risk who have left the formal education system. The branch furnishes these youth with professional skills and experience and a supportive environment. Their employment realizes the youth's potential and advances them in society. Branch "graduates" have successfully returned to school and matriculation, enlisted in the IDF, undergone professional training and have found workplaces happy to employee them including Aroma branches.
  • Aroma Israel embarks on joint ventures with various organizations, transferring the sale income from certain products to these organizations. One example is the cooperation with the Israel Anti drug and alcohol authority where "Naturally High" medallions were sold at all branches and the proceeds went to the organization. Aroma has also participated in the Israeli song fundraiser, "Shirotrom", 3 times.
  • Aroma Israel has cooperated with the "Table to Table" charity in order to collect branch food surpluses that are given to the needy at the end of every day.
  • Aroma Israel allocates voluntary "Community Air Time" to various organizations and foundations which run clips on the promotion screens in the branches.
  • "EDI" organ donor cards can be found and filled in at our branches.
  • We host groups that can not usually reach our branches – Children from assorted organizations, people with special needs and others so that they, too, can enjoy a special, positive and fun experience.
  • At the end of October 2008 Aroma collaborated with the "Miriam House", an "ILAN" day care center for the handicapped. The "Miriam House" rehabilitation residents painted 8 magnificent paintings which were printed on stickers. These stickers were then fastened by the residents to thousands of the chain's coffee binders. The proceeds of this project went towards a cash grant for their efforts and the purchase of equipment for their benefit at the institute.
  • One of Aroma Israel's main activities for 2009 is the adoption of "Israel Elwyn".
"Israel Elwyn" is an association which was founded in 1984 with the purpose of initiating, establishing and operating services for both children and adults with special needs. These services include diagnosis, nursing, education and rehabilitation.
Aroma Israel has been collaborating with "Israel Elwyn" from 1996 but this year the extent of its activities with the association will grow considerably As part of this activity Yariv Shefa, the founder of "Aroma Israel", will take on a voluntarily active role in the association.
The objective of "adopting" the association is to promote its activates in all possible ways, contribute Aroma Israel assets to the association and naturally to maximize the subject of providing employment for special needs employees in every way possible.
